It is a pleasure to meet you! My name is Kelsey Reichert and I am your Child Development Professional for the Parent Preschool Program. I made the switch to Child Care as my Profession in 2007 by chance, and quickly realized I had found my passion. From there, I took distance learning courses as I worked at the Child Care program until I decided to enrol in full time studies. I had the pleasure of experiencing two placements in the Parent Preschool Program during my time at the College. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from the Lethbridge College that I received from the on campus Program in 2011. I have worn many different Child Care "hats" since my studies, including experience in a Montessori Program, and Assistant Director of a Day Care Program. I took my maternity leave from that position to have my daughter Alia. She attended PPP for the last 3 years, and has just began Kindergarten this year! When she was 10 months old I chose to open a licensed and accredited Day Home, which I enjoyed for a year as she continued to grow and develop. An opportunity arose to supervise and Coordinate the Program of my Day Home Agency, which I accepted and flourished in during my time there. In that role I worked closely with the Mentors at the Lethbridge College through the Directors association, as well as Professional Development Opportunities. I am so excited to accept my position with the Lethbridge College and the Parent Preschool Program. I am thankful for the opportunity to get the chance to help mentor and educate the Professionals coming into this field in such a unique and incredible Program. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you, and your children as the weeks progress!
Hello my name is Sabrina Nesbit. I am from the windy little city of Lehtbridge, Alberta. I was born in Lethbridge in 1988, and I have since lived in the city for the majority of my life with my mom and dad. I have obtained a great amount of education from within the city, attending schools here for my entire life, including Lethbridge College. I took a short break from my Lethbridge studies and moved to Medicine Hat for one year, where I completed my education in Early Childhood Development through the Medicine Hat College. There, I obtained my Early Childhood Development Diploma as well as became member of the Phi Theta Kappa fraternity, which is a national honour roll society. I have been back in Lethbridge for two years now and have been working in direct childcare as a supervisor in an amazing daycare center in town. I recently heard of the opportunity to join forces with the Lethbridge College and the Parent Preschool Program, so I figured I would take life by the horns, apply for the job, then see what the future had in store for me. Here I am now writing my biography for this amazing position.
I believe that children are our future. I believe that they are strong independent people who are capable of anything they put their minds to. I believe that children learn from hands on experiences-if you can’t touch, taste or feel it, you can’t be learning it. I am a strong believer that the relationships between child, parents, and teachers are imperative to the healthy growth and development of our children, our future. I have been studying Early Childhood Education for a little over a decade now, and I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and skill set with the Parent Preschool Program.
Outside of my studies and work, I love to engage in many outdoor activities including; fishing, camping, quad riding and gardening. I just recently bought my first house and I am spending a lot of time renovating it to make it my own. I now live with my boyfriend of 6 years and our puppy, Finn. I look forward to learning and growing with children, families and members of the Parent Preschool Program.
